Kochi to Mysore via Nilambur – October 2012

Total distance is about 350 kilometers. If you are travelling to Nilambur during day time and on working days, the traffic is a bit heavy and time consuming. Kochi to Nilambur is 198 kilometers. we took less than four hours to cover this distance as we started from Kochi at around 4 in the morning. Only good hotel on the highway in Nilambur is Hotel Tamarind run by KTDC. The restaurant here serve good breakfast and lunch. We visited Adyanpara Waterfalls, Conolly Plot Teak Plantation, and Teak Museum etc. while on our stopover at Nilambur.

Keep in mind that, there is a travel restriction at Bandipur during 6 pm and 6 am. The road through the tiger reserve is closed to vehicular traffic during night time. So plan your trip accordingly. What we missed was the Gaur.
