In this image you can see both "Oody vanchy" (on the left side of the picture with oar men in white) and "Chundan Vallom" (boat on the right side of the picture which is much bigger compared to "Oody vanchy") alongside. "Oody vanchy" can accommodate about 40 rowers while "Chundan Vallom" (also known as Snake boat) can accommodate up to 100. This top angle photograph clearly shows the size difference between these two type of traditional Kerala boats which is exclusively used for boat races for decades.
