Nelliampathy Mountain cliff, Kerala - Jan 2009
Different views from Nelliyampathy mountain cliff. We can see the landscapes beneath spreading throughout the Nenmara village, Palghat from top of the cliff. The forest surrounding this cliff accommodate a variety of wild animals like bonnet monkeys, langurs , elephants etc. The fresh dung and the crushed tree trunks after eating the barks on the walkway along the ridge are evidences of wild elephant's presence in this forest belt (see photo NLPY_071 below) bordering on the tea plantations.

Bonnet Macaques of Nelliampathi mountains in Kerala - Jan 2009
These Bonnet monkeys seen in the hills of Nelliyampathy are very friendly to humans and often found taking food from tourists visiting this mountain cliff. One can also see the Gray langurs ( Hanuman Langurs ) on tree tops from a distance and not on the rocks or the grassy plains as they are not friendly like the Bonnet macaques.

Stock photos of ravishing tea estates, Nelliyampathy in Kerala. Obviously the physical impression of these plantations is different from tea estates of Munnar. Nelliyampathy tea estates which are confined to small pockets in contrasting to the vast tea plantations of Munnar hills.

Boating at Idukki Dam Reservoir, Kerala - Jan - 2009
Stock photos of boating at Idukki dam reservoir which is a rare opportunity to tourists only on festive holidays of Onam and Christmas. This boating is conducted by the Hydel Tourism wing of the Kerala state electricity Board. The speed boat being temporarily brought from Mattupetti reservoir where boating facility is available throughout the tourist season.
