പുതിയ കാനോൺ 70-200mm F4L IS II USM ലെൻസ് അതിന്റെ  മുൻഗാമിയേക്കാൾ നിരവധി മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തലുകൾ ഉള്ളതാണ്, സ്റ്റബിലൈസേഷൻ പവർ അഞ്ച് സ്റ്റോപ്പുകൾ ആക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പഴയ ലെൻസിൽ ഇത് മൂന്ന് സ്റ്റോപ്പുകൾ മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.  പുതുക്കിയ 70-200mm F4L IS II ലെൻസിന്റെ സ്റ്റബിലൈസേഷൻ സംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദം മുൻപത്തേതിനേക്കാൾ ശാന്തമാണ്. സ്റ്റബിലൈസേഷൻ ഇപ്പോൾ മൂന്ന് മോഡുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. മോഡ് 1 സ്റ്റില്ലിനും മോഡ് 2 പാനിങ്ങിനും മോഡ് 3 അസാധാരണ ചലനങ്ങൾക്കും.
