The Queen Mary 2, the magnificent ocean liner, berthed at the Cochin Port at 6.30 morning on 18th March 2009 with 2,451 passengers and 1,253 crew. This is her second visit to the port of Cochin and the only port in India she is calling on her world cruise. This majestic ocean liner, which arrived from Singapore for a 12-hour visit was docked at the Ernakulum wharf and sailed for Dubai at 6 pm in the evening. The tourists visited different places around Kochi especially sites of historical importance, the spices and antiques shopping centers at Mattancherry and Fort Kochi. Cochin port has become a major stopover for many leading luxury liners in the world and this March itself eleven big cruise ships including Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria of Cunard Line, ms Rotterdam of Holland America Line, Seven Seas Voyager of Regent Seven Seas Cruise Lines, Arcadia of P&O Cruises, Saga Rose of Saga Cruising and Star Clipper have touched this port.
