Vallarpadam Container Terminal (ICTT) Road, Kochi, Kerala - April 2015

Although this road was opened to traffic for the past 3 years, on most stretches only 2 lanes were operational. Now the full stretch 4 lanes are now complete and will be opened in May 2015. This video features first of three Goshree bridges, rail bridge to Vallarpadam container terminal, which is the longest railway bridge in India to date and the vast backwaters along the highway. This 17 Km road called NH47C starts from NH47 at Kalamassery passes through small island villages Ponnarimangalam, Moolampilly, Kothad and suburbs Cheranalloor, Eloor. It enters Kochi city at Marine Drive near Kerala High Court. This highway constructed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for the Vallarpadam Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) for the easy movement of container trucks without entering highly congested roads of Kochi city.
