Abhayaranyam Deer Park and eco-tourism project, Kaprikkad near Kodanad, Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala 20161118

Abhayaranyam at Kaprikad village run by the Kerala Forest department is about 9 kilometres from Paniyeli Poru, another beautiful picnic spot on the banks of river Periyar. This is an Eco-tourism project where rescued wild animals like deer, elephants are sheltered and protected in about 200 acres of natural evergreen forest. Main attractions here are walkway through the forests, deer park, elephants and model tree huts. Visitors are allowed from 8 am to 5 pm on all days except Mondays. This place is located 48 kilometres from Kochi city. Easiest route from Kochi is taking the Kochi International Airport road, Kalady, Kodanad to reach Kaprikad.
