Eravikulam is the home to Nilgiri Thar, an endangered mountain goat. From the parking area, there are mini buses operated by Kerala forest department which will take you up the hill to the entrance of the park. From there you can trek up spotting the Nilgiri Tahr (not guaranteed always). From here, you also get a breath-taking view of Anamudi, South India's largest peak and the valley below. The park is usually closed from January to March as it is the breeding season for Nilgiri Thar. Park entrance fee is ₹ 200 per head for Indian Nationals.
