The journey commences in the tranquil early hours of the morning, with the city of Kochi still adorned in slumber. As the sun casts its golden glow upon the landscape, we set out from Kochi, leaving behind the urban hustle and bustle in exchange for the serene allure of Kerala's picturesque terrain.
While the initial stretch from Kochi to Neriamangalam remains hidden in the darkness, our cameras start rolling as daylight graces our path. A GoPro camera, serving as our trusty dash cam, captures every curve and twist of NH 85, all meticulously formatted in a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, promising an immersive viewing experience like no other.
One of the early highlights of our journey is the iconic Neriamangalam Bridge, a historic arch bridge constructed in 1935. Serving as a literal and symbolic gateway between the Ernakulam and Idukki districts, this architectural marvel stands as the entrance to the majestic Western Ghats mountain ranges.
The adventure continues, revealing the enchanting beauty of Kerala's landscapes. The journey introduces us to the stunning Cheeyappara Waterfall, a seven-step cascade that conjures a mesmerizing symphony of water and verdant greenery. The Valara Waterfalls follow suit, adding an additional layer of magic to the voyage.
Traversing through the charming Adimali town and the sprawling tea estates, we approach the vibrant Munnar Town, where our journey pauses momentarily. Around 9:00 am, we find ourselves at the Issacs Residency hotel, where we enjoy a hearty breakfast, recharging our spirits for the adventures that await us in the subsequent legs of our journey.
